Green Homes Grant voucher

From September 2020 homeowners are able to apply for a £5,000 Green Homes Grant voucher to pay for the installation of energy saving home improvements.

This is part of a new government grant scheme comprising a £3 billion investment to help the UK meet climate change goals. The scheme will officially launch in September with applications for required energy efficiency measures distributed to local accredited installers.

Once one of these suppliers has provided a quote and the work is approved, the voucher is issued. Approximately half of the fund will be distributed to the poorest homeowners, who will not have to contribute anything to the cost. Improved energy solutions like cavity and loft insulation can save households up to £600 a year on energy bills and significantly reduce carbon emissions.
