Research has revealed that the majority of property buyers in 2020 are willing to pay more for a low carbon footprint homes, effectively making them much warmer in the winter months.

According to the findings 73% of prospective buyers last year wanted to purchase the most environmentally friendly house they can. The hardest hitting statistic is that 80% said they were willing to pay more for a home with a low carbon footprint!

Of the 1500-people questioned the majority said reducing energy bills was a very high priority on their check list when selecting a home. Most prospective buyers are very concerned about rising energy prices and wanted to do everything in their power to minimise this cost on an ongoing basis.

Lower energy bills are now ranked surprisingly far more important than location and land space.

2 Central heating boiler less than 5 years old

3 Double glazed windows

4 Draft proof doors

5 Fully insulated pipework
